If writing was my profession I would starve. But, believe it or not I had alot of ebay customers that actually looked forward to misspelled words, bad grammar and typing on and on about nothing in my listings. Some get my sense of humor and all the funny things that happen in my life. Other’s wish I had a point.. So I guess I will keep writing them as long as my fan club keeps requesting them. How big is Tater’s fan club.. hmmm lets see....does Mom and Dad count? Anyway, it’s my website and I made it.. so sit back and enjoy the reading material or print it out and use it to start a fire. Either way Im going to keep writing. Practice makes perfect. So here is the first story for my brand new website! I hope you like it. |

WHAT’s a Tater Hog? The word “Hawg, Lunker or Toad” is an expression anglers use when they’ve just caught an outstanding fish. But here in Taterville. We like to call them a “Tater”and if it’s something really special we call it a “Tater Hog”. Sure we could have used a more professional name to convey our image of high quality fishing lures to sell to the masses. But, that’s not my style. I like to have fun and enjoy life. I will let the other lure companies sell to the masses. When you buy a Tater Hog Custom lure. Your purchasing more than a fishing lure.. Your buying a bait with personality. Sure your going to catch fish with them. How many or how big is up to you. I took on a fun loving name and used a fictional character named “TATER” to express my passion. Hopefully you see the hard effort and work I put into all of my baits. My job is more than tricking a fish to bite. My mission is ... “(Helping others catch memories on the water one cast at a time).” The redneck name is just met to put a smile on your face. But, the image that Tater conveys means more than a subtle joke, a world record lunker or a kicker fish on Sunday. Searching for your Tater Hog is a challenge in human spirit, both mentally and physically. Some of us live our lives and never find it, while others achieve it with little effort. This quest could be compared to man’s ongoing battle to find his purpose in life. Will he ever find it? Where will he ever catch it? or how will he obtain it? All of us have the ability to believe in our ego or to identify the passion that drives achievements. Once you believe in it. You’ve just caught the trophy of life. “Success is not measured by the altitude of the mountains climbed. To me, success is starting a path at the bottom so others can meet you at the top. To do the impossible when others say it’s not obtainable. To live each day and do your very best. Even if you fail to succeed. To dream and enjoy all that life gives. The good or bad. “Life is what happens while your making other plans.” The memories we catch along this journey make up our life. Enjoying a day fishing with your son or daughter. That’s a Tater Hog. Spending time sharing a story with friends. That’s a Tater Hog. Fishing with your father without knowing it will be your last trip. The story book ending would have Dad catching all the fish. But, life doesn’t always have story book endings. Some days are just plain and we have a hard time living in the moment on those normal days.. It’s usually when you reflect back on the memories shared together, that you realize how special that day became. That’s a Tater Hog! It’s an unbelievable feeling to have success on something you created. Just knowing all of you could have a story to share with someone else that includes my bait as part of your memory. That’s my Tater Hog! You caught the memory, Tater just provided the inspiration. Man that’s my passion! That’s my trophy! That’s what I hunt for in my life. To make a difference in others life. Even if all that difference is a memory fishing my bait with the ones we love. Yeah I know its corny, maybe a little deeper than you wanted to fish. But, I believe God gives all of us a gift. It’s up to us to figure out how to open the box and cast away. No Forrest, life is not like a box of chocolates. Its like a box full of Tater Hogs. You never know what your goin catch. To me, that’s the meaning of life. . All of us have a little bit of Tater in us. To dream big, to do your best and catch our memories. “One Tater Hog at a time!”
